In multi-compressor installations—common in oil & gas facilities and large industrial plants—Lead-Lag and Sequential control strategies are used to balance equipment runtime, improve energy efficiency, and ensure system redundancy.

Instead of running one compressor at 100% capacity (which is inefficient), these systems use multiple units to "step" up to meet demand.

Digital Pressure Switches Controls

Digital pressure switches are the "brains" behind modern field compressor automation. In the oil and gas industry, they have largely replaced mechanical "Bellows" or "Piston" switches because they offer higher precision, visual feedback, and the ability to communicate with remote SCADA systems.  Integrated Displays, provide a real-time digital readout of the system pressure, eliminating the need for a secondary analog gauge on the compressor skid system.

Power Factor Correction "Kvar" PFC Units"

In large-scale industrial operations, particularly those using medium and large air compressors, Power Factor Correction (PFC) is essential for reducing energy costs and improving grid stability. Many utilities charge "reactive power penalties" if your power factor drops below a certain threshold.

Power factor is the ratio of Working Power (kW) to Apparent Power (kVA). Induction motors create a "lagging" power factor because they require reactive power (kVAR) to create  magnetic fields.
